Chapter Six

They meet in unimaginable places and in queer environments. They are ambitious men and women full of life who want a go on the good life and its comforts and luxuries. They are high flyers and shakers and movers of society. They crave the good things in life like every human being, but what makes them different is that they are in a hurry and have put everything they want in life in a timeframe or window. Some come from very humble beginnings and backgrounds. Some are full of wisdom and yet join the bandwagon that bends their minds, and they make the most foolish choice of a lifetime. Along the line of meetings and chances, some not expected to become members may become leaders out of fear of poverty and deprivation, which are all they have known from their birth.

The gene of acquisition, desire, and ambition running through their veins comes either by birth or through association with men and women with the same kind of gene. They are the kind of people who seem to know what they want and go for it. These people are found in all stations of life and in every age bracket and gender. Ladder climbing is a serious business and hobby, and their heartbeat. They are ready to go to hell to achieve their goals, no matter the hurdles before them. They never look back, and they love the good cream of life! “Just make it happen” is one of their mottos. “I’m made to withstand the heat” is another!

That day’s meeting was scheduled for the oceanfront, and the arrival of invitees started at twelve midnight. Those who made it before the time hovered around like hawks, waiting for the simple-minded and unassuming beachcombers to leave. These men and women knew how patience and endurance could help them achieve their aspirations and yearnings. Some destinies would change forever that night, while some others would find this ride to wealth and stardom too cumbersome and the price really not worth it in the long run. The last kind described is very rare to find, but the first kind could be found everywhere there that night, coming in packs of thousands for less than nothing in price.

The time was twelve midnight. Choices are made by men and women each day, and that night would not be different. But these men and women could not choose the consequences of their choices that night. Some came with an air of accomplishment and some looked too serious, like men searching for rare gems. Still others came with a simple mind and were ready to make their choices right away. This location was a melting pot for all kinds of people from all walks of life. This kind of meeting is held in the air, on the land, and in the water! This kind of meeting is for the lionhearted and not for the opposite. Being midnight, not all would recognize each other the next day or
